What is a mortgage broker?

Just as an insurance broker finds you the best deal on insurance products, a mortgage broker finds you the best deal on  mortgage products. Rather than working for one financial institution, we’re independent and deal with several different financial institutions. This flexibility allows us to offer you more choices and more competitive rates. It also means our advice is impartial and based on your best interests.

Even though we work for you (not the financial institution), We get paid by the institution (not you!). Their “finders fees” will reimburse us for bringing them creditworthy customers like you. Since these fees are similar from most lenders, there is little incentive for us to favour one lender over another. In very rare instances – if, for example, you have non-standard credit – a broker may charge a fee, but in the vast majority of cases, there is no charge to you.
